1、意思不同：

many意思：n.许多；许多人或物.

much意思：n.许多。

2、用法不同：

many用法：用作定语,只有在对比结构中,可用作表语,往往含有“虽然多”或“确实多”的意思。

例句：Many of these substances are innocuous.这里的许多物质都无害。

much用法：修饰动词(可放于其前或其后)，也常修饰形容词或副词的比较级或最高级和分词。一般用于疑问句或否定句。

例句：I think we may learn much from it.我想我们能从中学到许多。

3、侧重点不同

many侧重点：用于一般现在时。

much侧重点：用于一般现在时或一般将来时。

(1)many修饰复数可数名词,表许多;much修饰不可数名词,表量或程度.

(2)many a:many a和many同义,但语气比较强,并且要与单数名词及单数形动词连用.
